Simplifying!!!!

All of this technology is supposed to be helpful and some days, like today, it just makes me CRAZY!!!!
Just got the new I phone 5 and I love it , don't get me wrong, but my contacts are now out of control. At the Verizon store it really took a long time for them to transfer my contacts and now I know why. I have contact overload! Every email, Facebook and phone number contact I have ever saved is now on my phone and I-pad-all separately. I purchased the .99 app to help consolidate them and still have had to go through them and combine and delete like crazy. Completing this daunting task has made me realize that it is time to simplify everything. I am going to group all of my contact emails and only send things to those that wish to receive it. I am going to go through my own email and unsubscribe from all of the junk emails that I myself receive-just getting through my daily emails is a full time job anymore! I feel more liberated already. Now maybe I won't feel quite so bogged down with all of this supposedly helpful technology :)

Dock building 101 Lake Norman

Part of Lake Norman living is boating. We love spending the day on the lake with friends in our boat. Everyone shows up with coolers, food and the good times begin. This year we are finally having our own dock built at the house so the boating can be more frequent and more convenient.
The process first starts by browsing the lake and websites to determine what type do dock you want to have. Websites we browsed are: http://www.foxdocks.com/, http://www.dockanddredge.com/, http://lakenormanboatlift.com/, and http://www.aquadocks.com/ just to name a few. We browsed through tons of photos and then made phone calls to meet with several of the companies to get ideas and quotes. After  selecting a company we sat down to make all of the plans and go through the building timeline and payment schedule. The great thing about all of these companies is that they will do all of your permitting for you so you don't have to do anything except write the checks to Duke and the wildlife commission. Then you wait... The permitting process can take up to 30 days or more and no building can begin until you have those permits.
With permits approved the building can begin! Ours started in August and I have taken photos from start until so far. Will share the photos soon!
